PROJECT FISHNET
At the Fish Foundation, we believe that small, grassroots charities play the most important role in lifting local communities out of poverty. That's why we're putting together a way for the public to identify and interact with organizations like yours -- an online network called FISHNET. We're building FISHNET because we know that many small charities lack the resources to effectively publicize and communicate with the public. These organizations spend most of their time and resources helping their communities -- and rightly so. FISHNET allows you to easily show off your work to potential donors through text, audio, video and photos. You can also accept donations to your organization through us. And, you can use FISHNET to communicate and collaborate with other small charities in your area, so you can share resources instead of reinventing the wheel. Think of FISHNET as a MySpace for charitable organizations. If you're part of a small organization that's devoted to work in psychological care, nutritional help, educational advancement and financial literacy in impoverished areas of our country, we'd like to hear from you. Right now, we're especially interested in organizations operating in the area affected by Hurricane Katrina -- New Orleans and the Louisiana / Mississippi Gulf Coast. We have a short online survey that's the first step to joining FISHNET -- you can find it here. After you complete the survey, we'll contact you for more information. There's no cost to joining our network. Our goal is to end poverty by supporting the people who are empowering their communities. We're launching FISHNET later in 2007. In the meantime, if you want to learn more, please contact us at info@fishfoundation.org. |
