PROJECT FISHNET

FISHNET FOR DONORS | FISHNET FOR NON-PROFITS

Ever wonder where your charitable dollar is really going? Chances are, you're giving your contributions to large charities -- organizations with the public relations capacity to attract your dollar. What about the grassroots organizations who are doing the most important work -- uplifting their own communities? That's where FISHNET comes in.

The Fish Foundation is creating an innovative way for you to identify, communicate and donate to small charities that are working to eliminate poverty in America. We believe that grassroots organizations make the most impact because they have the best ideas about local needs and they are intimately tied to their communities. We're seeking out charities working in any of the following four focus areas: psychological care, educational advancement, nutritional help, financial literacy . If you know of an organization that fits these guidelines, feel free to nominate them for inclusion in FISHNET.

Our primary targets for assistance are organizations operating in the area affected by Hurricane Katrina -- New Orleans and the Louisiana / Mississippi Gulf Coast. FISHNET allows you to view financial information for these grassroots organizations, as well as audio, photos and video of these charities in action. That way, you'll be able to know that your charitable dollar is going to the right place. Think of it as a MySpace for charitable organizations.

We're launching FISHNET later in 2007. In the meantime, if you want to learn more, contact us at info@fishfoundation.org
